I managed to get home for just the last 15 minutes of the November UKuG Low Band Contest and quickly set-up my FT-817ND, DB6NT G2 transverter and 60cm Offset Dish on the patio, at the side of the house.
A quick QSO with Dave G1EFHF/P was completed at good signal strength both ways over what is a LOS unobstructed path 43km path to the South West over to Walbury Hill (IO91GI) 297m (974ft) high. I was pointing through my neighbour's trees from the home QTH in Wargrave (IO91NL) which is just 57m (187ft) ASL.
